Study the Performance of a Novel Desiccant Heat Exchanger

Conserving energy and reducing emissions has become a global consensus. However, most air conditioning systems are highly energy-consuming, affecting warming the ozone layer because they use chlorine fluorine refrigerating fluids. Evaporative cooling one of important environmentally friendly with low consumption. their performance is negatively affected by high humidity inlet air. One solutions to control relative using desiccant material. In this paper, silica gel-coated heat exchanger was designed constructed as dehumidifying unit. The effect airflow rate, hot water flow cold regeneration temperature on system's been studied. It found that increasing rate improves removing moisture from desiccant. negative thermal exchanger. effectiveness 53% in phase 52% for outside 40 ºC, W=20 g/kg, an 0.48 m³/s. From results shown above, it noticed system could work efficiently climates be used Iraqi weather.
